Week 3 started off as usual, I didn’t record the issues we had with catching Marlee. Here the first video was a fun one, as Merlin, my faithful “kitty-dog’ watches me put the finishing touches on the saddle.

I then sat back and watched the natural instinct of this horse in action in the round pen — you guessed it — bucking

And more bucking, as I checked the saddle

After she calmed down, in this her third week of natural horsemanship training, she quickly learns its easier to connect, or “join up” to the horse trainer, than it is to run around.

And so I prepare the halter and teach her to give me her head

And then we work with the halter and lead line

And finish up with driving her to get her used to things behind her not hurting her, as well as getting her used to more directions being given different ways
